Stephanie Stussman is a displaced New Yorker, currently living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with her husband, two daughters, and two neurotic cats.  She has traded the beautiful Erie Canal towns of Western New York and the skyscrapers, museums and theaters of New York City for a completely different way of life, sandwiched between the western prairies and the foothills of the stunning Canadian Rockies.  She horribly misses a good NY bagel and fall leaves of all colors, but the hiking, camping, hot springs and mountain views make up for it aplenty. 

She graduated from Fredonia State University with a fine arts degree in painting, and unofficially minored in technical theater, photography, and English literature.  She later studied writing and illustrating for children at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.  She is a member of the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, and hopes to some day have her own books dog-eared and well-loved on bookshelves all over the world.
